Don't Drink the Milk

I think These games deserve their own thread considering they have blown up in the last couple years. I am always browsing the Market Place for new games and demos. Something to be said about a game that cost anywhere from $1 - $15 and can pack the same entertainment punch as a full $60 title... So I am a fan of these two type of games. I probably have about 10-15 arcade games and about 20 indie games on my hard drive... Not counting the numerous PS3 arcade games I have as well

Is there any Arcade or Indie games you recommend? I have a list and will use this thread for it....

Idnie Games to check out
Mithra: The Calling
Machiavelli's Ascent
Weapon of Choice
Solar
 I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES!!!1

And is anyone interested in the upcoming Arcade titles, like LIMBO?

Top Arcade Games I recommend
Grid
Toy Soldiers
Castle Crashers
Shadow Complex
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2
Galaga (classic)
Fat Princess
Joe Danger (PSN Exclusive but badass)
Battlefield 1943
Heavy Weapon

All I can think of off the top my head
I'm an Arcade junkie. I'm downloading damn near all the demos and giving them a shot at least. I miss the old feature that auto downloaded the new ones for me when I logged in.

I am a big fan of the puzzle games and Peggle has been well worth the 15 dollar total investment for the number of play hours that game has seen in my household.
I loved the hell out of Heavy Weapon and may revisit that one. The Metal Slug games are wonderful too. Castle Crashers was fantastic. I bought Battlefield 1943 when they did that Christmas promo but haven't played it much.

I'll always be partial to Dig Dug, it is one of my all time favorite games. The same goes with Contra. I love the fact that the Konami code still works (but disables achievements)
I just use the DOWNLOAD feature that continues downloading even when you turn off your xbox... I load up my hard drive with Arcade and Idie Demos daily... I didnt even notice they did away with the auto download feature, that is gay...

Yeah, I had mine set up to download anything new that hit the Arcade back when I got my Elite. I'd play it and delete it if I hated it and buy it if I liked it. I probably have 40 arcade titles I've purchased. Magic the Gatehring is awesome if you're into the CCG thing at all or ever was. I played the game all the time back in the day and that one has been well worth my investment.

I still look ever Wednesday to see what is new. I usually pass on anything fighting. I did buy Marvel vs Capcom though as I poured paychecks worth of wquarters into that back inthe day. I'd LOVE to see Killer Instinct in any form hit teh Arcade
KILLER INSTINCT.... hell yeah, or the original Twisted Metal would be nice... Yeah Killer Instinct took precedent over street fighter in my hay day.. I have Dig Dug and Paper Boy for nostalgia, but damn those games are not forgiving like today's games, that was the beauty of em I think... Heavy Weapon I have on the PS3 and yeah it is better then zoids mouth on a friday night.. Me and the kiddo still play castle crahers and fat princess together, good times...

We'll never see Twisted Metal due to it being a Sony product and I REALLY want the new one. They're going back to their roots. Sad that it's exclusive. We have to settle for it's down syndromed cousin, Vigilante 8.

I have a shitload of Arcade games. I'd ahve to look em up. BF1943 is better than any BFBC. Ever. Ever.
Does anyone even play indie games? And has anyone fucked with the XNA shit...LEGO RUNE coming soon
You mean Lego Duplo Rune.

I'm probably going to get Limbo when it releases tomorrow. It's been getting a ton of glowing reviews. I hear it's comparable to Braid in the fact that it's a side-scroller with a twist, except instead of time manipulation it's full of sick, twisted, nightmarish stuff.
@Zoid...Lmao...deal! but I think the basis of the game was my idea...I think

@Tranny
Yeah limbo looks to be more along the lines of what zoid would debate with Ebert on ART IN VIDEO GAMES, it will probably be this years Braid...I will be getting it as well... And a great time to release considering the funk we are all in right now with nothing worth playing being released....

@Baud
Extreme Baby Maker is actually on my hard drive, you can get 10 indie games for 10bucks so I have several I have yet to play... Maybe I will check this one out tonight..

Another Worthy Mention for INDIE games is

Machinarium (Its PC only though)

Another good Indie title for those who have music on their xbox is Beat Hazard typical dual-stick shoot-'em-up, but good for a $1

"D3 making you miss SWTOR? Well that's an odd statement. If your looking for a long single player game loaded with voice overs then SWTOR will tickle your fancy, D3 is "okay" at best. I mean it's good for what it is, but it's…"

"I think I'm burning out on D3. It's going to be a push just to finish it on normal. I'm towards the end of Act 3 I believe. It's just so monotonous. Story is fucking great, I'll give it that. But I'm not much of a story…"

"lmao That sucks dude, but actually works to my benefit. If you came on singing it's praises, it probably would have pushed me off the fence on it. "
