Computer related babble

Some of you may not get too into the computer thing, but I know you use them.  If you didn't, you wouldn't be here.

 

That being said, I wanted to start a thread about computer related things and I'm starting with Internet Explorer 9.  Has anyone been brave enough to install it and give it a try yet?  If not, what is your browser of choice?

 

Mostly for work I have to use IE because we use Microsft CRM (I know there is a Firefox add on) and all the sites we use are programmed with IE in mind.  When at home, I prefer Chrome as it seems to run much faster.

Personally, I use Utorrent. 

 

it MAY be the torrent traffic but at the same time, not all torrent traffic is "good"  Those programs use ports that are way up high on the list and that's usually a red flag to security programs.  That being said, nefarious computer types know the default ports these programs use and that's a gateway into your system.  Bots can be set up to throw stuff out there through certain ports.  You can go into the settings and change the port number it uses by a few and see if that doesn't lessen your alerts or try utorrent.  I've never had issues with it and I've used it for years.

It's a false positive Luda just mark it as ok.

 

Trav: I point people to my site so that they know for sure they are hitting a secure link. You never know the amount of malware on someone's machine.
