Melon Popper makes me think of Psi-Ops. THAT was a fun game to just run through certain levels. The Challenges were just as fun.
But either way, melon popper to me comes from the way you refill your TK (telekenesis) by "sucking" it out of the enemies head. Normally, it's a matter of a couple seconds and they just fall to the ground, lifeless. However, if you catch 'em by surprise, it goes on for another second or two and you hear them muttering faster and faster and faster until *PLOP* like a cantaloupe.
