Spammers
To the Mods:
Obviously we are having an influx of spammers hit the site. As you may have noticed, LordRune has set the new membership to approval only. I have declined probably 20 accounts so far. However, I'm noticing that someone is approving them, then suspending them. Not that big of a deal, but here is a tip.
When you go to approve the account, it gives you the option to look at their page first. You will be able to notice real quick that it is a spammer. The gamer tag, PSN ID, and Wii code will all be garbage. They won't attempt to change their page or their avatar. And for the most part, if their name has a list of numbers behind it, it's prolly a spammer.
Just look at their page real quick and decline instead of accepting then suspending please.

I'm not certain, but the approve/suspend issue might be my fault. When I find a spammer, I don't just decline their profile. I go into the member options and mark them as "suspend for spam", which reflects on that particular email address all across the ning network. It's possible that when I do this the spammers are being accepted as members in order to be able to be reported as spam. I'm not sure, but next time one shows up RR and I can coordinate to see if that's what's going on.
