I'm going to start in on pride prejudice and zombies tonight.
Stephen Hawking's new book (The Grand Design) sounds interesting.
Just Started this

and this is next

Finished reading The Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul by Douglas Adams (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, etc...). The book had several lol moments, but the ending felt flat compared to the rest of the story. Back in April I read Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and I will never read anything else by that author (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies).

I should be getting these two in the next couple days

@Zoid Now that was funny.

@Lurf I have no idea what The Forever War is but it's got a kick ass cover. I've4 had a copy of Starship Troopers for 6 or 7 some odd years and have yet to read it.
@Lurf: Two things. Would you recommend the Dirk Gently books to someone who's read The Hitchhiker's Guide and The Salmon of Doubt and loved them both? Second thing: what was wrong with Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter? I enjoyed it, personally.

Currently Reading:

both Rune and Zoid are currently reading books with "Shit" for Cover Art
@LordRune
I've only read the H2G2 series (the first book 3 times and the rest once), so I don't know first hand about his other work other than the one I just read. It was good, full of the same type of humor, but the ending came too quickly and seemed to fall flat to the immense build up of the last few chapters. It was good, but not as good as H2G2.

Problem I had with Vampire Hunter was similar. The ending felt cliche and didn't seem to fit the character of Lincoln that was made in the book. Also, we never hear about the guy writing the book after the first chapter(?), which I wanted. 90% of the book was good fun, but the last bit just blew it for me.
I know this isn't fun at all, but I'm currently reading about bent-core liquid crystals in relation to flexoelectric properties. The field has a lot of potential and I know there's a lot of work being done on it here. Essentially, these are materials that if you put a strain on them (pulling, twisting, etc.) they create a significant electrical polarization.

Yeah, but I don't get a lot of time to read actual novels, unfortunately. I've had Pride and Prejudice and Zombies sitting here untouched for a few months now.
Well that wasn't very nice, for crying out flavin.
My favorite Frink line:

"My goodness! I've redorkulated!"
Well I got a good start on PP&Z I'm on the 8th chapter (lots of tiny chapters) this will be the first book I've sat down and read in a LONG time. After seeing the trailer for Abraham Lincoln Vampire hunter I think they need to make it into a movie.

"D3 making you miss SWTOR? Well that's an odd statement. If your looking for a long single player game loaded with voice overs then SWTOR will tickle your fancy, D3 is "okay" at best. I mean it's good for what it is, but it's…"

"lol Look, the main character is a girl, but she's kind of a cunt and she knows it. It's not all flowers and passing notes to boys. It's about shooting arrows in people's necks and struggling to survive. Meh, read it, don't…"

"I think I'm burning out on D3. It's going to be a push just to finish it on normal. I'm towards the end of Act 3 I believe. It's just so monotonous. Story is fucking great, I'll give it that. But I'm not much of a story…"

"lmao That sucks dude, but actually works to my benefit. If you came on singing it's praises, it probably would have pushed me off the fence on it. "
