Convenience... my ass!
i have been trying to apply for this very simple assembly job at a local manufacturing company.
i was told i had to go through the local job service center to apply.
what a load of shit this has been.
i have put in around 5 hours of time now for this application process. and still have another assesment to take.
what makes me so frustrated about this is the job service center is only open from 8am-5pm. wich is my schedule where i presently work.
isnt the focus of a job center to provide a convenient service for people looking for jobs?
its taken me 2 weeks to get this far because i have to schedule these damn tests at the convenience of the person giving them. and i have to sacrifice my present hours in order to just apply to this one job.
its a fucking assembly position... a godamn monkey could do the job. why do i need to take two seperate versions of three different tests (6), plus a skills assesment, on top of a 4 page application?
my conclusions from this experience point me even more in the direction of wanting to move out of this country.
with the fighting of big business and mid-lower class workers and the availability of jobs, and now the experience of jumping through flaming hoops to get a (Mindless) job, im at a loss of words of how much stupidity and laziness is rampant in this shit hole country.
has anyone else experienced this completely failed work/economic system recently?

I had to take a psychological exam to make bread for a summer. That was fun. Same job also randomly ambushed me one day and made me go to a clinic after work to get drug tested.

You run into the same thing in Canada when trying to use a placement or recruitment service. Its a lot of running you in circles all for nothing.

The schedule usually doesn't matter as those using the places are ones that aren't currently employed. With this being an entry level job, they aren't really considering schedules of those looking to make a lateral move.
